The weekly Wednesday series at Minton’s Harlem with JC Hopkins Biggish Band will feature vocalists Jazzmeia Horn and Milton Suggs and very special guest tapper DeWitt Fleming Jr. An acclaimed tap dancer, Fleming Jr., also singing with the band, has performed and taught tap throughout the United States and abroad. As a soloist he has danced with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, and with artists such as Wynton Marsalis and the New York Times has noted that Fleming is, “a non stop source of rhythmic variety and surprise….sparks seem to fly from those shoes!”

This week’s band features James Zollar and Seneca Black on trumpet, Darius Christian Jones on trombone, Claire Daly on baritone sax, Julian Pressley on alto sax, Jonathan Beshay on tenor sax, Dwayne ‘Cook’ Broadnax on drums and Eitan Gofman on bass.

Dancers welcome! Great floor!
